 | Why Dizziness Could be a Good Thing | Mar 5, 2007 |
Kismet is the Turkish and arabic term for fate. It concerns the fixed natural order of the universe. It expresses the belief that we are all destined to a certain end and we cannot do anything to stop it anymore. Wow... Sounds like something Darth Vader would say. If we only had some creepy music... Well anyway, welcome folks to "This Kismet's A Dance". What is it? Well, to start of, this site was created by a bunch of Philippine Science High School Scholars, batch 2009. This site is inspired by their great Social Science teacher, Sir Martin Perez. Also, this site is dedicated to problems.. (Yes, I said problems. Before you start going to another site, hear me out some more.) Whatever issues arise, most probably it's here. BUT, this site is also about, decorations and getting dizzy. (Yes, I said decorations and getting dizzy. Before you start spreading black propaganda and sending death threats to the creators, please keep reading) Problems? Decorations? Getting DIZZY??? You may be thinking that illegal drugs and some alcohol were involved in the making of this site. Sorry to burst your bubble, but no. (We'll even send you some test results) As we've said from the beginning, this site is run by some Philippine Science High School (PSHS) scholars. As scholars, they've been "tasked" by the state to help out in solving the country's problems, and in the long run, the world's problems as well. That's their kismet. By making the choice to enter the PSHS, they've also chosen their paths. The "problems" aspect of this site is mainly about the scholars giving "feedback" on current issues. What about all the decorations and dizziness you mentioned? Dancing has become an art form all around the world. Different cultures have their own signature dance, all unique on their own. There is, however, something common among all dances. As a person dance, the world around him/her becomes a big blur. The person is hypnotized and is caught in a trance. The person’s emotions are at their highest levels. Everything seems to be obsolete and nothing else matters until the dance is complete. When this finally happens, the person wakes up from the trance and there is much satisfaction within him/her. (uh… so what?) Well, The scholars would like to think that all the stuff they’re doing is just a big dance. That this Kismet’s a Dance. They do their duty and they get caught in one big trance. When it seems that they have achieved what they set their mind into, a big feeling of satisfaction is felt. To sum up everything we’ve mentioned (making the difficulty in writing them quite useless), everything in this site would have a signature PSHS scholar flair. What that signature is (and whether you’ll be able to notice it) would be all up to you to discern. (We’re too lazy to detail everything about it anyway) Before you continue browsing around the site (or leaving), here are some ground rules: 1. Some side comments from the creators are put into every entry. For you guys to know which user commented what here are their “signature styles”: Josh Uy here!Kelsy Vy here!Mika Suansing here!Cedric Gonzales here!2. Please leave comments as you browse around. (All death threats/curses/hexes should be sent via snail mail.) 3.Pass the word around! Sharing of this site to your friends is most appreciated. Just please don’t tell our parents. 4. cash donations are always welcome 5. Please do not leave your belongings unattended. 6. No pets allowed. 7. SUGARFREE 1999-2011 It had to end. As hard as it was for any fan like me, it had to happen. Although, we couldn't really ask for a more graceful and more fitting exit for the greatest OPM band I grew up and had my adolescence with. I dare say it:... more | You do something, we react. | Mar 11, 2007 |
